Wedding Makeup

Hi Titas!

In this series of posts titled “Wedding- __” I will be sharing with you the behind the scenes of my wedding, as well as what happened during and after the big day.

Let’s start with the day before the wedding. Everyone always says “you need to REST the day before your wedding.” Forget about partying, drinking alcohol, , because you have to be in perfect conditions for the big (and long) day ahead of you. The whole world also advises you not to use products or to do treatments that you have never used before, days before the wedding, because you can suffer from an allergic reaction, among a thousand other things.

What did I do? ALL OF THE ABOVE. Two days before the wedding, I had some pimples in certain areas of my face and I said, “I’m going to buy a cream that will eliminate it”; a cream I had never used. When I woke up the next day, I had RED BUMPS where I put the cream on. Apparently, I had a bad reaction and there’s nothing I could do. To add more drama, the evening before the wedding, I went out for just one drink that turned into partying until 5:30 a.m. I even had Burger King before going to bed. The worst part is that I had only 3 hours of sleep as I needed to be ready for the makeup artist appointment.

This was around 3:00 a.m.

Speaking of makeup artists, it’s recommend to do a trial before the wedding day so you can see if you like what they do, to practice the look and see If you guys have a good bond, as he or she will be someone important on that day. Well, I DIDN’T do that. I don’t live in Puerto Rico and I never had the chance to meet him before my wedding. Yes, I’m crazy.

Ladies and gentlemen, Arquimides Gonzalez is the best! First he prepared my skin and eyes with a refreshing mask. I grabbed a glass of Champagne and started to relax.

I told him that I wanted a natural makeup with a tropical glow, not the typical bridal makeup. I had a vision and he exceeded my expectations. Look at this:

Arquímides is an excellent makeup artist and I recommend it 100%. You can see his work on social media and you can contact him for more information. (@arquimidesg)

So Tita, it’s your choice. You can act like a decent bride and follow the recommendations of the wedding gurus or you can be like me, who is rebellious and will do whatever she wants!
